In a surprising turn of events, 392 asylum seekers have been returned to Greece by German authorities, which breaks away from the precedent established by the German Constitutional Court back in 2011. Therefore such an action raises an intriguing question for us to examine. Are we witnessing a change in Germany’s long standing migrant policy? Or is it just a case of Merkel electioneering in the run up to Germany’s general election? That is what we shall examine in this article.
