The Falklands or Las Islas Malvinas is an archipelago 483 km off the coast of Argentina in the South Atlantic. The Falklands are an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom and rely on the UK government only in defence and foreign affairs, but are otherwise completely independent and self-sufficient. These Islands are home to 2,932 citizens who all have the right to UK citizenship. We will now see the history of this archipelago, who has the best claim to it and how it functions today.
