If you ask the average football fan, “is racism in football dead?” they will answer something along the lines of “yeah definitely. Apart from John Terry…and Luis Suarez…oh, and Russia.” Antics from Chewy Luis (credit to the Huffington Post) and the inexplicably admired John “WAG shagger of Stamford Bridge” Terry aside, great strides have been made in the beautiful game to ensure that acts of racism don’t go unnoticed and that those responsible are met with the appropriate consequences.
